BARBARA BLANCHARD
Barbara Jane Blanchard, 89, of St Clairsville, Ohio, passed away Tuesday, June 6th, at Shadyside Healthcare and Rehabilitation.
She was born on April 17, 1934, in Bristol, Tennessee, daughter of the late James and Agnes (Grubb) Booth.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 56 years, Walter L Blanchard, and brother James Booth. She is survived by two sisters, Ann Ritz of Cocoa Beach, Florida, and Nancy Frye of Wheeling, West Virginia; several nieces and nephews.
She was a graduate of St Joseph Academy in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Barbara was a professional Ballroom Dance Instructor for many years, having been associated with the Arthur Murray School of Dance, and for a number of years as an independent instructor. She was a talented seamstress and loved entertaining family and friends in her home.
She was a member of St Mary’s Catholic Church in St . Clairsville, Ohio. She was also a member of the Woman’s Club of Wheeling, and a volunteer at the Oglebay Mansion. For a number of years, she assisted in the Christmas decorating at the Oglebay mansion.
Family will receive friends Wednesday 10am-11am at St. Frances Cabrini Cath- olic Church, Colerain, Ohio. Funeral Mass will follow with Father Thomas Chillog as Celebrant. Interment at Union Cemetery, St. Clairsville, Ohio.
