DARRYL NASH

Darryl L. Nash, 74, passed away on June 14, 2023. He was the only child of the late Ernest and Betty (Dean) Nash. He spent most of his life in Shadyside, Ohio.

Darryl is survived by Cherrel Nash, his children Amanda (Gabriel) Rubrico, Mitchell Nash and Anne- Melissa “Missy” Nash and was “PaPa” to Amelia Copney and Nash and Sol Rubrico. His children and grandchildren were the center of his universe. He also is survived by special cousins Joyce and Ray Nash.

He was a retired teacher who spent 31 years at Powhatan Elementary teaching woodworking and science. He coached all jr high sports there for more than 20 years. He loved woodworking in his spare time. He was a member of the Lathers Union and worked construction with his father during summers and did remodeling on the side. Music was Darryl’s second love. He was a member of the local rock band High Rise in the 70s, and was a band patron and always involved in Band Camp for Shadyside’s students while his kids were in school. He sang karaoke for many years throughout the valley. He was active with the SHS Class of “67” reunion committees. And was proud to have been recognized at the Shadyside Relays this spring for 36 years of service, where he was an OVAC official for Track and Field. Darryl was a life long, devoted fan of the Cleveland Browns and was a member of the local Browns Backers Club.

Darryl was the owner of HotDog Heaven, the food cart in downtown Wheeling. He also drove for Prime Time Limo and First Class Limousine where he made many friends, including the stars who sang at Jamboree in the Hills.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecth Altmeyer Funeral Home, 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside on Wednesday June 21,2023 from 4-8pm and again on Thursday from 11am until time of service at 1pm. Interment to follow at Rock Hill Cemetery, Bellaire Ohio.
