BETTY SNIDER

Betty Jane Hartline Snider, 97, of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully June 27, 2023, at her daughter’s home surrounded by her loving family. Born June 15, 1926, in Shadyside to Hiram & Naomi Hess Hartline. She graduated in 1944 from Shadyside High School and retired from Holly Memorial Gardens in 1991. Betty was an active member of Colerain Presbyterian Church and Colerain Senior Center. An avid bridge player and historian. She belonged to Eastern Star and many other organizations. Preceded in death by her husband Chuck, parents, sister Dora Gentile, and brothers Jack and Mike Hartline. She is survived by her sister Dolly Simmons of Sewickley, PA, son Louis (Tammie) of Erwin, TN, daughters Leslie (Bill) Withers and Lynne (Ray) Swicegood of Columbus. Grandchildren Nolan (Nicole) Snider, Cali (Jay) Warren, Bill (Sarah) Withers, Justin (Sam) Withers, Kara (Greg) Truck, Jessica “Sweetie” (Jake) Swicegood, Jack (Alex) Swicegood, 14 great grandchildren, nieces & nephews. Friends and family will be received at the Wilson Funeral Home, Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH, on Friday, July 7, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8, Eastern Star Service at 7pm. Saturday from 10 till time of service at 11:30am at Colerain Presbyterian Church, Route 250, Colerain, OH, with Pastor Joe Ellis officiating. Interment in Holly Memorial Gardens.
