Brenda Lee (Watts) Owens, 61, of Martins Ferry, Ohio, went to be with her Lord and savior on Friday, June 30th peacefully at her home surrounded by family.

She was born July 29th, 1961, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, the daughter of the late Will and Annalee (Roby) Watts Jr.

Brenda was a graduate of Martins Ferry High School, Class of 1979.

Brenda was an employee of WVU Hospital in Wheeling, WV where she worked as a cleaning attendant. She received numerous awards and recognition as she was a stellar employee. She was a member of Apostolic Faith Temple. She was an avid Purple Rider & Pittsburgh Steelers fan. Brenda enjoyed devoting her time to attend all of her grandchildrens’ events both academic and athletic. She never missed a single event . She also loved supporting all of the kids in her community no matter what sport they were involved in. She was very enthusiastic about her community. Brenda was a God fearing woman and her faith was unwavering. Her support for her children, grandchildren and family were like no other. She wore many hats in her family but being a mother and grandmother were what she took most pride in. She was the best, one of a kind, a real life superhero!

She is survived by her husband Fred Owens, two daughters, Shawna Watts and Brittany (Sherman) Griffin, her only son Fred (Lindsay Alexander) Owens II. Siblings, Gloria Jean (Ed) Gracie and Terry Lynn Watts. Grand- children Domenique M. Wallace (Grace Furbee), Brooklynn R. Wallace, Shermiyah N.J. Griffin, Alaina G. Farwell, Anthony B. Alexander, Aaliyah L. Acantilado, Sherman L. Griffin Jr and Gianna K. Acantilado, one great grandson Kingston M. Wallace, two nephews that were very special to her as they were the sons of her deceased identical twin, Michael A Heath and Chase A Watts and a host of nieces, nephews and many close friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, Annette Fizhugh-Carter and Glenda Watts-Heath (her identical twin), and two brothers, Michael Roby & James D Watts Sr.

Family and friends will be received on Monday July 10, 2023 from 4pm until 8pm at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street Bellaire Ohio 43906 and again on Tuesday July 11, 2023 from 11am until time of services at 1pm with Reverend James Agnew officiating. Interment immediately at Riverview Cemetery, Martins Ferry Ohio.
