VIRGINIA TITONIS

Virginia A. Titonis, 88, of Martins Ferry, Ohio passed away on July 19, 2023.

She was born November 8, 1934, in Martins Ferry, Ohio and was the daughter of the late Angelo and Irene (Skarvelis) Titonis. She was preceded in death by her brother, George Angelo Titonis, and special friend, George Fleagane.

Virginia was a member of Martins Ferry High School, Class of 1952. She is a proud alumnus of The Ohio State University where she received her Bach- elor’s degree before getting her master’s degree in education. She worked in the Belmont County Aud- itor’s Office and was a dedicated school teacher with the Martins Ferry School District for 32 years. She was a member of the Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority of Retired Teachers, Ohio State Alumni Association, P.A.L. Art League, and served as Past District Governor of the Maids of Athena.

She was a beloved aunt to her nieces Renee Titonis Brock, Vanessa (Chris) Berhalter, Theodora Titionis, and Maria Titonis. She was sister- in-law to Karen (Kolenich) Titonis and was fondly referred to as Thea Ginny by Grayden and Griffin Brock and Nicholas, Abigail, and Nathan Berhalter and several godchildren. The family is grateful to Gracie Bethel and the caring staff and residents of Senior Suites at St. Clair Commons.

Family and friends may pay their respects at the Wilson Funeral Home Heslop Chapel 415 Walnut St. Martins Ferry, Ohio on Monday July 24, 2023, from 5-8 p.m. with Trisagion Services to be conducted at 7 pm at the Funeral Home. Then on Tuesday from 10 am till time of Funeral Service at 11 am at the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life Giving-Foundation, with Fr. Constantine Makrinos as celebrant, interment will be immediately following the service at Holly Memorial Garden Pleasant Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Greek Orthodox Church of the Life-Giving Fountain, 34 N. 5th St. Martins Ferry, OH 43935.
