OLLIE JACKSON
Ollie Elizabeth Jackson, 92, of St. Clairsville, Ohio passed away on Monday, October 30, 2023, at Liza’s Place of Valley Hospice, Wheeling, West Virginia. She was born October 29, 1931, in Martins Ferry, Ohio, a daughter of the late Carrie B. Walker Johnson.
Ollie was a Drug and Alcohol Counselor Supervisor at Crossroads. She was a member of the Oglebay Wood Carvers Association, St. Mary’s Choir, State of Ohio Drug and Alcohol Credential Board, Congregation of the Sisters of St. Joseph Associates, and a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Martins Ferry, Ohio. Ollie was responsible for getting folks to Washington, D.C. to attend Martin Luther King Jr’s first march.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Harold S. Jackson, Sr; two sons, Kerry L. Jackson and Harold S. Jackson, Jr.; a daughter, Anita C. Heard; two brothers; and one sister.
Surviving are a son, Charles E. Jackson of Columbus, Ohio; her best friend, Linda Burris of St. Clairsville.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 11 a.m. until time of Funeral Liturgy with Mass at 12:30 p.m. at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, St. Clairsville with Fr. Thomas Chillog as celebrant. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or the Special Olympics.
