BERNARD “BERNIE” GERDAU
Bernard ‘Bernie’ Dwight Gerdau, of Bellaire passed away Sunday December 10, 2023 at Shadyside Healthcare and Rehabilitation in Shadyside, Ohio.
Born February 3, 1930, the son of the late Bernard J. Gerdau and Victorine A. (Wautlet) Gerdau.
He was retired from Ohio Edison where he spent his career as a foreman.
He was a member of St. John’s Catholic Church of Bellaire, Ohio, and was a U.S. Navy Veteran, having served his country in the Korean War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Mary J. (Kalinowski) Gerdau on October 19, 2023, sisters, Maxine Barrett, Patricia Irwin, Joanne Betrel, brothers, Thomas, David and Walter Gerdau.
Surviving are his sisters, Beverly Haroldsen and Cindy Edwards, brother, Gerald (Barb) Gerdau, sisters in law Barbara McFarland and Elizabeth (Bob) Good, brother in law Michael Kalinowski; several nieces and nephews; and great-nieces and nephews.
A memorial mass will be held Saturday December 16, 2023 at St. John Catholic Church, 415 37th Street Bellaire Ohio 43906 at 11am.
