EDNA MAE “AUNT NOOK” DAVIS

Edna Mae Davis (Aunt Nook), 92 of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully surrounded by her two nieces, Kim and Heather, Monday evening, December 11, 2023, at Belmont Manor. She was born August 5, 1931, in Martins Ferry, the daughter of the late Edward and Clara (Eden) Davis.

Edna was Christian by faith, a proud graduate of the Martins Ferry High School Class of 1950, worked for the Hazel Atlas Company of Wheeling in the production department, went back to school to obtain her nursing degree and retired as an LPN at the East Ohio Regional Hospital for 30 plus years. A member of the Colerain Senior Center where she would meet her friends and play cards, she was an avid reader and loved books, often you could find her at the Martins Ferry Library, she was famous for baking her Hungarian cookies during the Christmas holidays.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers, Thomas O’Connor, Robert O’Connor, Edward Davis, sisters, Lillian O’Connor, and Jean DeHaven.

Edna was never a wife or mother but forever a great aunt x’s3. She was a woman of many talents and interest however, her greatest joy came from being with her family.

Left to Cherish her memory are her nieces, Kim (Dale) Richter, Becky Dutcher, Beth (Rich) Powell, nephew, Bill (Chris) Davis, great nieces, and nephews, Heather (Paul) Selby, Michael Richter, Brianne (PJ) Eddy, Brittany (Rodney) Nash, Jessica (Tyler) Cressap, Monica Powell, great-great nieces, and nephews, Keegan, Hannah Hupp, Jace Selby, Adele Stillion, Claire Eddy, Maddix, Mylie Richter, Aiden, Emma and Rodney Rex IV Nash, great-great-great niece, Harlow Littell, brother, William R. Davis complete her family.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, December 14, 2023, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Wilson Funeral Home — Heslop chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, Ohio 43935. Funeral Service will be conducted at 6pm at the funeral home, officiated by Pastor Dave Hennen. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
