JOSEPH DUBIL

Joseph John Dubil, 68, of Blaine, Ohio, passed away peacefully with his children and granddaughters by his side at Ruby Memorial Hospital in Morgantown, WV on Tuesday, January 23, 2024.

He was born August 27, 1955, to Edward and Helen (Butch) Dubil. A graduate of St. John High School in Bellaire, Joe was a standout baseball player and went on to play for his hometown with the Blaine Blue Jays. Joe loved to play, talk, and watch baseball, and was a huge fan of the Atlanta Braves. He also enjoyed attending Pirates games as much as he could. Joe was a do or die Notre Dame football fan and you could not convince him there was a better team out there. He was quick with the one-liners and his sense of humor was one of a kind. Sharing a beer or a glass of CC or catching a game of Euchre with a friend always brought a smile to his face. A lover of history, he finally got to visit Gettysburg several times with this family and looked forward to regaling all with his knowledge. Joe was a long-time member of the Lansing Sportsman’s Club and Bridgeport Forester’s Club.

Joe was retired from Tri-State Machine of Wheeling, as well as 25 years with the former Big Bear Department Store in Bridgeport, a member of the former All Saints Catholic Church of Blaine and most recently St. Joseph Catholic Church of Wolfhurst.

Most importantly, his hair was perfect.

Joe was preceded in death by his parents and brother, William Dubil. He is survived by his children: Sandy (Mike) Shock of Cheswick, PA; Brian Dubil of Louisville, KY; Jason (Christina) Dubil of Colerain, OH; and Jodi (Mike) Dalto of Martins Ferry, OH, along with his granddaughters, Kaitlyn Clary and Savanah Dubil. Also remembering him are his 5 brothers and 2 sisters: Bob Dubil, Nancy Dubil, Ron Dubil and Jennifer (Andy) Hadzima, all of Blaine, OH; Mark (Mickey) Dubil of St. Clairsville, OH; Ed (Michele) Dubil of Delaware, OH; and Tony (Lisa) Dubil of Marengo, OH; as well as many nieces, nephews and a great-niece/ nephews, cousins and friends.

There will be a memorial visitation, celebration of life on Saturday, January 27, 2024, at the Forester’s Club, 55939 W. Second St., Bridgeport, Ohio, 43912, from 2-4pm.
