Joyce Arlene Albaugh, 82, of Key Ridge, Bellaire, Ohio passed away at Country Club Retirement Home in Bellaire, Ohio on Sunday, January 14, 2024 surrounded by family and friends.
She was born August 25, 1941 in Bellaire, Ohio a daughter of the late Addison and Lola (Kehl) Sole.
Joyce was a graduate of Bellaire High School and employed by the G.C. Murphy Co. until becoming a wife and homemaker.
She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, aunt, sister, and grandmother to many.
Joyce was a sports fan that enjoyed watching her grandchildren compete in a variety of sports and was an avid Bellaire Big Reds Fan. Her sports passion was watching the Cleveland Indians, Dallas Cowboys, and NHRA Drag Racing.
She was an award winning poet with poems published by the International Society of Poets.
Joyce is preceded in death by her loving husband, Elmer L. Albaugh, brothers, Kenneth Sole, Larry (Butch) Sole, and Charles (Charlie) Sole.
She is survived by her four children, Ronald (Jennifer) Albaugh of Cape Coral, Florida, Christopher (Jocelyn) Albaugh of Shadyside, Ohio, Shawn (Jennifer) Albaugh of Bellaire, Ohio, Shayne Albaugh of St. Clairsville, Ohio, grandmother to Hunter Boyd, Cody Albaugh, Kelyn Albaugh, Jade Gavlik, Sydney Crawford, Kayla Jackson, and Rhiannon Ernest, sister to Ruth Fowkes, Claudine Carrol, Linda Neil, and aunt to several nieces and nephews.
Family and friends will be received at Care Funeral & Cremation Specialists 204 West Main Street, St. Clairsville, Ohio on Wednesday, January 17th from 2-4pm and 6-8pm. Additional visitation on Thursday, January 18th at 12:00pm with services at 1:00pm with Pastor Phil Bliss officiating. Immediate Burial to follow at Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, Ohio.
The family would like to express great thanks to the staff at Country Club Retirement Home where Joyce resided for the last two years. A special thanks to the staff at Stonerise Hospice for the compassion and care provided.
