CLARENCE “LINDY” POTTER

Clarence David “Lindy” Potter, 97, of Lansing, passed away Thursday, February 15, 2024, in Good Shepherd Nursing Center. He was born on September 17, 1926, in Wheeling, a son of the late Clarence and Pearl (Curry) Potter. He was a devout member of the Kirkwood United Methodist Church, having been in the choir for many years; served his country in the US Army, and was a member of the Bridgeport Masonic Lodge. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed many trips with his golfing friends to Myrtle Beach. Lindy was also a talented trombonist and played with the Wheeling Symphony, the Bernie Glenn Band, the Ron Marconi Band, and the Earl Summers Big Band. He was also an avid OSU football fan.

He is survived by a son, David (Linda) Potter; a daughter, Lynn (George) Ebbert; grandchildren, Jessica (Kevin) Lee, Melissa (Tim) Tracy, Michelle (Mike) Robertson and Michael (Brooke) Ebbert; two great grandchildren, Sawyer Tracy, and Blair Ebbert.

Lindy was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother who raised him, Sarah Jane Muldoon; his parents; and a brother, Frank Potter.

Friends may call Tuesday from 4-8 pm in the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd., Brookside. Funeral services will be held Wednesday at 11 am in the funeral home with Pastor James Hoff officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove.

The family would like to thank the staff of Good Shepherd Nursing Center and Dr. William Mercer for the loving care given to Lindy during his stay there.
