JANICE TAYLOR
Janice Lee “Jan” Taylor, 76, of St. Clairsville, OH passed away on Monday, February 26, 2024 at the Shadyside Care Center, Shadyside, OH. She was born July 15, 1947 in Martins Ferry, OH., a daughter of the late Lee and Doris Minder Sabic.
Jan was retired from Riesbeck’s Food Market and was a previous employee of K-Mart, Elder Beerman and Kaufman’s Department Store. Jan was a member of Thoburn United Methodist Church serving in the Child Study Program and enjoyed playing cards, bingo and dancing in Wheeling.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Joyce Dagan; her companion, Charlie Tuchek.
Surviving are her children, Penny (John) Govekar and Heather (Shawn) Elmore both of Columbus and Chris Taylor of St. Clairsville; three sisters, Marlene Koucoumaris of Colerain, OH., Elaine Gasmire of Martins Ferry and Margie Bechtel of Bellaire, OH.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday from 4-8 pm at Toothman Funeral Home, St. Clairsville with funeral services on Friday at 11 am. with Rev. David St. Aubin officiating. Burial will follow in Holly Memorial Gardens, Pleasant Grove, OH.
