Richard J. Silverio, 85, of Shadyside, Ohio passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024 at WVU Wheeling Hospital, surrounded by his family.
Rich was born on September 2, 1938 in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Diolino and Threase (DeCola) Silverio.
Rich was a U.S. Army Veteran and a retired employee of Ormet Aluminum. He was catholic by faith.
Rich Shared his passion for hunting, fishing and golf with his children and grandchildren. He could be found watching the Shadyside Tigers and the TCC Saints. He loved watching his grandchildren play football, basketball, wrestling, softball, volleyball and a majorette. He followed his grandchildren everywhere.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother Domenick.
Surviving are his wife, MaryLou Silverio of Shadyside; his son, Rich (Judy) Silverio of Shadyside; his daughter, Michelle (Randy) Keitz of New Philadelphia; grand children, Natalie (Lee) Martin, Aaron (Olivia) Silverio, Erich Keitz and Rachel Keitz; great-grandson, Lucca Silverio; a great grandson due in May; a sister MaryAnn (John) Cheffy; two special nieces, Alicia Silverio and Anne Miller; stepchildren, Teri (Gary) Conaway, Julie (Kenny) Thompson, Mark (Tammy) Lednik, Jeff (Connie) Lednik, Diane (Dave) Lednik, Susan (Jeff) Sabatino, Kevin (LeeAnn) Lednik and numerous step-grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Friends and family will be received at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home 3900 Central Avenue, Shadyside, Ohio on Friday, February 23, 2024 from 2:00pm to 4:00pm and 6:00pm to 8:00pm. Additional visitation will be on Saturday, February 24, 2024 from 10:00am until the time of military ceremony by the Belmont County Veterans Association at 10:45am. Funeral services will begin at 11:00am with Father Dan Heusel as celebrant. Burial to follow at the Powhatan Cemetery, Powhatan Point, Ohio.
