DENZAL “FRED” BANE

Denzal Frederick “Fred” Bane, age 93 of Glen Easton, WV died Tuesday, March 12, 2024 in Cameron Continuous Care Center, Cameron, WV.

He was born August 27, 1930 in Cameron, the son of the late James Ercil and Ethel Redd Bane.

He was owner/ operator of Fred Bane Trucking, having started out with his family’s business driving truck until his father’s passing, at which time he took over as an independent operator and ran it until his retirement at age 83; was a member of Cameron Christian Church; and his favorite pastime was dancing the jig, playing spoons, and farming.

Fred never met a stranger; and always told people that he was a “30 model”.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Clyde Bane; and a sister, Mary Una Phillips.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Evelyn Phillips Bane; a son, Paul Bane of Glen Dale, WV; a daughter, Pamela (Thomas Twain) Faulkner of Cameron; a sister, Betty Lee Ross of Moundsville, a brother, Martin (Sue) Bane of Moundville; and several nieces and nephews.

Family will receive friends on Sunday from 2-8pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Jefferson Ave., Moundsville where funeral services will be held Monday at 11am with Rev. Jim Higginson officiating.

Private interment will be held in Bane Cemetery, Cameron.
