GEORGE FULLER

George “Jack” Fuller, Jr, 83, of Durham, NC passed away peacefully at Duke Hospital on Mar 17, 2024 after a brief illness.

Born Mar 29, 1940 in Pittsburgh, PA, of George Jack Fuller, Sr. and Rita Evelyn Prado, Jack grew up in Moundsville, WV, where he was a 1957 graduate of Moundsville High School. He attended West Virginia University School of Pharmacy and West Liberty State College School of Business, earning a BA in business administration.

An Army National Guard veteran, Jack served as an emergency medical service assistant in Point Pleasant, WV and a medical specialist at Fort Sam Houston, TX.

His professional career included positions as Chief Cost Analyst and Safety Coordinator for Appalachian Power Company, WV, and Safety Supervisor for Foster Wheeler Energy Company in several locations including Michigan, Tennessee, Indiana, and Texas.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by brothers, Frederic B. and Robert B. Fuller and nephew, James Britton “Brit” Fuller.

His legacy lives on through his beloved wife, Valerie “Jo” Fuller; son, George Jack Fuller, III (Monique) of Apex, NC; brother, James B. Fuller (Vicki) of Durham, NC; stepdaughter, Allison (Jim) Ross of Chapel Hill, NC; stepson, Michael J. (Dana) Kinder of Richmond, VA; grandchildren, Jaden Bowdrie, Jackson Fuller, Jace Fuller, Cameron Ross, Erica Kinder, and Sean Ross; nieces and nephews–Marnie, Lisa, Ryan, Jamie, and Bobby; and devoted neighbor, Roger.

A talented high school athlete, Jack always followed football and other sports, and he loved watching old/classic movies. Other interests included listening to oldies and country music, going to the (horse) races, traveling, playing cards, gardening, investing in the stock market, decorating for the holidays, and especially family trips and gatherings. Compassionate and generous, Jack was always helping neighbors, friends, and family with whatever was needed, readily sharing love, laughter, and fun with all who knew him, particularly babies, children and most notably his grandchildren.

Grisell Funeral Home, Moundsville, is in charge of arrangements. where visitation will be held Tues, Apr 2, 2024, 5-8:00 pm. A graveside service to celebrate Jack’s life will be held the next day at 11:00 am at Riverview Cemetery- Mausoleum, with interment to follow.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, Moundsville.
