ROGER BROCKLEHURST
Roger D. Brocklehurst, 74, of Shadyside, Ohio, died March 5, 2024, at his daughter’s home in Newark, Ohio.
He was born August 14, 1949, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Vera May Bumgardner Brocklehurst and John Arthur “Jack” Brocklehurst Sr.
Roger was a retired coal miner and former employee of the R.E. Burger Power Plant. He was a U. S. Army veteran having served during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Joyce Hess Brocklehurst, a sister, Phyllis Brocklehurst, and two brothers, John “Jack” Brocklehurst Jr. and Donald Brocklehurst.
Roger is survived by two daughters, DeLisa (Chris) Palmer and Dane’e Brocklehurst; two sisters, Karen (Larry) Pierce, and Susan (Gary) Hess; five grandchildren, Dylan (Christina), Logan (Brenda), Caitlin, Marissa, and Jakob; three great grandchildren, Derek, Mason, and Alexandria and one on the way; nieces, nephews, and many friends.
Family and friends will be received on Friday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m., with Pastor Jack Palmer officiating. The burial will follow in Powhatan Cemetery.
