RONALD PICKENS
Ronald Allen Pickens, 80 years old, passed away Thursday, February 29, 2024, at the Rollings Hills Nursing Home in Bridgeport. He was born December 27, 1943, in Wheeling, WV, the son of the late Willard and Alice (West) Pickens.
Ron was a retired coal miner from the Shoemaker Mine – Consol Coal Company with the Safety and Frist Aide team. He was Presbyterian by faith, and a member of the Harrison County Boat Club.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his loving wife, Edith F. (Efaw) Pickens in 2017, and brothers Willard R. Pickens and Edward Pickens.
Left to cherish his memory are his children, Ronald J. (Cammie) Pickens of Bellaire, Ted A. Pickens of Piedmont, Michael S. (Melissa) Pickens of Wheeling; brother, Dennis (Kelly) Pickens; 14 grandchildren and 15 great- grandchildren complete the family.
Family and friends will be received on Thursday, March 7, 2024, from 5-8 p.m. at the Wilson Funeral Home, 920 National Rd. Brookside, Ohio. The funeral service will be Friday, March 8, 2024, at the funeral home at 11 a.m. with Rev. James Hoff officiating. Burial to follow at the Greenwood Cemetery, 1526 National Rd, Wheeling, WV, 26003.
