FRANKLIN BRUNNER

Franklin Delano “Hank” Brunner, 89, of Jacobsburg, Ohio died April 20, 2024, in Reynolds Memorial Hospital, Glen Dale, West Virginia.

He was born September 19, 1934, in Jacobsburg, Ohio, a son of the late Ernest H. Brunner and Anna Bigler Brunner.

Hank was a retired coal miner from Consolidation Coal Company’s Quarto Mine. He was a member of the True Sportsman’s Club in Jacobsburg and the UMWA Local 1785. Hank was a lifelong Cleveland Browns and Boston Red Sox fan. He was the last of 11 children and a hard-working and loving brother, uncle and friend to all who knew him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his four sisters, Betty Brooks, Viola Sims, Alverna “Fern” Phillips, Ella Mae Ramsay; six brothers, Emerson, William “Bill”, Charles “Peanuts”, LeRoy “Dutch”, Floyd “Sam”, and Ernest “Shood” Brunner.

Hank is survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews, and great-great nieces and -nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio, on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m., where services will be held on Thursday at 11 a.m. with Pastor David Demarest officiating. The burial will follow in Armstrong Cemetery.
