HENRY JOHSON

Henry Thomas ‘Tommy’ Johnson, 81, of Clarington passed away on March 31, 2024, in Wheeling, West Virginia.

He was born on January 19, 1943, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Henry Lee ‘Bud’ Johnson Jr. and Virginia Ann Harding Johnson.

Tommy found joy in various interests throughout his life, including riding horses, spending quality time with his beloved family, and enthusiastically supporting Cleveland sports teams, particularly the Browns and Indians, He also held a deep passion for Ohio State Football, showcasing his unwavering pride for his home state.

Tommy proudly served his country as a United States Army Veteran and was a devoted member of Beallsville American Legion Post #768,

Tommy will be fondly remembered and deeply missed by his daughters Tonya (Tony) Harper, Misty Johnson, and Trischa Johnson, as well as his siblings Jackie (Norman) Taylor, Jeffrey (Debbie) Johnson, David (Pam) Johnson, John (Georgia) Johnson, and Nita (Terry) Galbreth. He leaves behind a legacy of love and laughter that lives on through many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and cherished friends.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his son, Shawn Massey; siblings Retta (Elmo) Hodge, Charles ‘Homer’ Johnson, Jerry (Karen) Johnson, and Douglas (Alesia) Johnson.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home and Crematory, 441 37th Street Bellaire on Saturday April 6, 2024 from 12:00 until time of service at 1:30pm with Pastor Darrell T., Parker officiating. Private inurnment will be at the convenience of the family.
