PAUL KOZSUCH
Paul James Kozsuch was born in St. Clairsville, Ohio in 1924 and died peacefully inBrownsville, Texas, on November 24th, 2023, just a few months before his 100th birthday.
Throughout his many years, Paul was a devoted Son, Brother, a WWII Veteran, a Husband, a Father, an Uncle, a Grandfather, and a Teacher.
He graduated from St. Clairsville high school in 1942. During World War II, Paul served for 3 years as a Marine in the Pacific. He tested, operated, and then taught officers and servicemen about the new technology of radar.
After the war he pursued his love of mathematics, science, education, and teaching. He graduated from Ohio Wesleyan University in 1951 with a degree in Mathematics and Physics. Later, he completed a Masters of Education degree at Southern Methodist University. As a high school teacher his classes included algebra, geometry, calculus, physics, and chemistry. Paul taught for almost thirty years in Dallas, Ore City, and Brownsville, Texas.
Throughout his educational career he led and sponsored many chapters of Mu Alpha Theta, the national mathematics society, and the Jr. Engineering Society.
Paul lived in Brownsville, Texas for 50 years enjoying the ocean, the outdoors, and serving as a Kiwanian.
Paul James Kozsuch was born to Andrew and Mary Kozsuch of St. Clairsville, Ohio in 1924, the 7th of 8 children. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Andrew, Andy,
Albert Kozsuch, and sisters Ann Arnold, Irene Upole and Marjorie Winterhoff. He is survived by a son James Sandhi Kozsuch of Gainesville, Georgia; a sister Peggy (Kuba) of St. Clairsville, Ohio, two grandchildren, Hannah (Austin) Marr and Neal Kozsuch, one greatgrandchild, Arianna, and many nieces and nephews.
