BERNADINE LEONE
Bernadine M. Leone, 93, of Cadiz passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2024, at WVU Harrison Community Hospital surrounded by her family. She was born May 15, 1931, in Cadiz, a daughter of the late Asa Gibby and Jessie Peters Gibby Edwards.
Bernadine was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Cadiz; during her working career she served as the Cadiz High School Superintendent’s Secretary, Buick Garage Secretary, JCPenney Associate and an Avon Representative. She was also involved in the Salvation Army and Harrison Community Hospital Gift Shoppe. Bernadine loved to travel, be it on bus trips, overseas, or on cruises; anywhere she could dance (and gamble) she would, she always lived life to the fullest.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Duane G. Leone in 1985, her daughter, Diane, stepfather, George Edwards, and her companion Ted Zitko in 2024.
Surviving are her two children: Lisa (Albert Peters) Liuni of Cadiz and Craig (Deborah) Leone of Chagrin Falls; grandchildren, Angela and Brent Poillucci, Olivia and Michael Leone, and four other grandchildren.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024, from noon until the time of her funeral service at 2 p.m. at Clark-Kirkland-Barr Funeral Home, Cadiz, with John Visser officiating. Burial will follow at Cadiz Union Cemetery.
The family would like to thank the Harrison County Home and Harrison Community Hospital for all the wonderful care they gave to Bernadine.
