CLARENCE GARLOCH

Clarence Vernon Garloch, Jr. 83, of Glencoe, Ohio, died May 23, 2024, at WVU Ruby Memorial Hospital, in Morgantown, West Virginia.

He was born December 2, 1940, in Bellaire, Ohio, a son of the late Clarence V. Garloch Sr. and Mary Maudel Riggs Garloch.

Junior was a retired coal miner from North American Coal Company Powhatan #3 Mine. He enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and always spoiling his grandchildren and great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Shepherd Garloch; a son, John Michael Garloch; sons-in-law, Kenny Saffell and William T. “Bill” Bell Sr.; a grandson, William “Billy” Bell Jr.; and a brother, John Garloch.

Junior is survived by his three children, Margaret “Peggy” Bell, Kim Saffell and Thomas (Kim) Garloch; six sisters, Maryann Copeland, Marge Barton, Millie Carpenter, Judy (Jimmie) Clark, Nancy (Garry) Carpenter, and Kay (Bennie) Driscoll; a brother, George (C.J.) Garloch; grandchildren, Brandon Bell, Jason (Beth) Saffell, Brittany (Adam) Porter, Courtney (E.J.) Slocum, Piper Garloch, Katie (Michael) Farrabee, Courtney (Jonathan) Droginske, and Kaley Jo (Shadow) Garloch; fifteen great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Tuesday from 12 to 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. until time of service at 5:30 p.m., with Pastor Mark Statler officiating. A private family committal service will be held in Mt. Zion Cemetery, Bellaire, Ohio, at the convenience of the family.
