DOUGLAS EATON

M. Douglas “Doug” Eaton, 66, a vibrant presence in St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away on May 7, 2024, enveloped in the comfort of his home and the embrace of his beloved family.
Born on December 31, 1957, in Parkersburg, West Virginia, Doug was the son of his late parents, M. Diane Wilsman Eaton and C. Beecher Eaton. He carved his legacy as the owner and operator of Wheeling Tire in North Wheeling, where his dedication, passion, and kindness resonated with all who knew him.
In his personal time, Doug cherished moments with loved ones, be it soaking in the serenity of Seneca Lake, navigating the waters on his boat, embarking on exhilarating off-roading escapades, or simply sitting down to watch his favorite movies. In his younger years, his spirit thrived amidst the roar of stock car engines, a passion he pursued avidly through Eaton Racing.
Doug leaves behind a tapestry of love and memories woven with his family. He is survived by his his fiancee, Terri Holliday; children, Daniel Eaton and Emily Eaton with her fiance, Grayson Anderson; brothers, Greg (Melanie) Eaton, Brian (Cindy) Eaton, and Mike (Robin) Eaton; stepson, Michael Sampson; grandson, Reese Sampson; and his cherished canine companion, Maxwell. His influence and warmth also extends to his nieces, nephews, and a multitude of friends.
In alignment with Doug’s wishes, there will be no visitation. Instead, the Eaton family is organizing a Celebration of Life to honor his remarkable journey, the details of which will be communicated at a later date. Arrangements have been entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Doug’s name may be directed to the American Cancer Society.
Doug Eaton was more than an article could encapsulate — he was a beacon of kindness, a source of joy and laughter, and a cherished loved one whose presence will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
