LUVINIA “NINA” HOCKER

Luvinia Eileen “Nina” Hocker, age 73, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, passed away on May 5, 2024. She was born on January 26, 1951.

Luvinia, affectionately known as Nina, dedicated her life to caring for others as a hardworking nurse. She found joy in taking care of everyone she encountered. Nina’s love for the Lord was evident from an early age when she devoted herself under Pastor Floyd Pitts at Shiloh Temple Apostolic Church. She shared her musical talents by singing in the choir and in later years playing the piano at church. Sewing, playing the piano, and spending time with children and family were among her cherished hobbies.

Nina is survived by her brother, Elder Frank Lee (Marilyn) Hocker Sr., special nieces Christine Williams and Denise (Christopher) Person, special nephew Anthony(Charlotte)Williams, along with numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Randall and Alberta Hocker Sr. sisters Kathleen Cox, Alberta Williams, Margret Ann Hocker, brothers Kenneth Hocker, Russell Hocker, and Randall Hocker Jr.

Nina pursued her passion for nursing after graduating from Bellaire High School and Belmont Tech for Nursing. She served as an LPN at Ohio Valley Hospital and Wheeling Hospital, touching the lives of many with her compassionate care.

The Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, is assisting the family with the her final wishes. Per those wishes there will be no services.

Nina’s kindness, dedication to her profession, and love for her family and community will always be remembered and cherished by those whose lives she touched.
