PATIRICIA STEELE

Patricia Ann Steele Moore, 91, of Marietta, Ohio, passed away peacefully Tuesday, April 30, 2024.

Patricia was born March 17, 1933, in St. Clairsville, Ohio, a daughter of the late Charles Lash and Ellen Kelly Rinker Lash and a special niece to Bess Lash, who helped raise her after her parent’s death.

Patricia had a love of children and a passion for education. She was a retired school teacher of 30 years in East Liverpool, Ohio. She started her teaching career at East Liverpool High School teaching office skills and then moved on to teaching Kindergarten and Elementary grades. She was considered a mentor by those who taught with her.

She was a member of the Chestnut Level Christian Church.

In addition to her parents and aunt, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Jerome K. “Jerry” Steele; her second husband, Warner R. Moore; a brother, Charles Lash; and two sisters, Evelyn Cooper and Charlotte Walters Grant.

Patricia is survived by her son, Charles “Jerry” (Martha) Steele of Vienna, West Virginia; two daughters, Lori (Greg) Orall of Marietta, Ohio and Amy (Jim) Soyars of Kent, Ohio; grandchildren Eric Steele, Julie Steele, Zachary Orall, Abigail Orall, Ellen Soyars, Jacob Soyars and Isaac Soyars; great grandchildren Duncan Steele and Ethan Steele; ten grandchildren and eight great grandchildren through her Moore family.

She will be remembered in countless memories for her love of reading, completing challenging puzzles, exploring local history, bucket list vacations, sleepovers, water battles and her family July 4th celebrations.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in Jacobsburg, Ohio on Sunday from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., where services will be held on Monday at 11 a.m. A private family burial will be in Longs Run Cemetery, East Liverpool, Ohio at 2 p.m.
