DAVID THOMPSON

David P. Thompson, 86, of Smithfield, OH, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, in the Sienna Skilled Care Facility in Wintersville, OH.

Dave was born Oct. 13, 1937, in Wheeling, WV, son of the late Jesse and Virginia (Johnson) Thompson.

Dave worked at Weirton Steel in the Power House until his retirement in 2007. Prior to the steel mill, he worked as a Milkman for Modern Dairy for 12 years. Dave was also a life-time farmer.

He was a member, deacon, and trustee of the Mount Moriah Baptist Church where he also taught Sunday School. Dave was also a 50-year member of the Smithfield Masonic Lodge #182 and the Scottish Rite.

In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his son, David Brent Thompson, and brother, Daniel Lee Thompson.

Dave leaves behind his wife, Carolyn Joyce (Harrah) Thompson, whom he married Dec. 16, 1961; three daughters, Pamela (Thomas) Oiler of Hopedale, OH, Lisa (Bruce) Milhorn, and Marsha (Christopher) DeNoble, both of Dillonvale, OH; three sisters, twin Linda (Gerald) Dombroski of Harrisville, OH, Sue (Richard) Bramen of Kansas City, MO, and Joyce Nation of St. Clairsville, OH; three grandchildren, Alisha (Craig) Russell, Chelsey Ralston, and Madison Thompson; two great-grandchil- dren, Wyatt and Aubree Russell.

Visitation will be held Thursday, June 20 from 11 am to 1 pm at the J.E. Foster Funeral Home in Smithfield followed by the funeral service at 1 pm. Pastor Jerry Dombroski will officiate, and burial will take place in Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, OH.

Dave’s family would like to thank everyone, at both Trinity West and Sienna Skilled Care, for the great care they provided.
