CARROLL BREWER
Carroll Wayne (Prunes) Brewer, age 93, of Palmetto, Florida, formerly of Piedmont, Ohio died at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, June 30, 2024 in Bradenton, Florida.
Prunes was born November 23, 1930 in Holloway, Ohio; a son of the late John Will Brewer and Leora Alma White Brewer.
He was a 1948 graduate from Holloway High School. He was discharged as a Corporal in March of 1954 after serving our country in the United States Army for two years. He was a member of the VFW in Barnesville, Ohio and a member of the Masonic Lodge in Flushing, Ohio. He attended Oak Grove Calvary Chapel in Piedmont, Ohio and the Suncoast Baptist Church in Palmetto, Florida. Prunes was also a retired machinist from Consolidated Coal Company.
Surviving is his wife of sixty-nine years, Donna Mae Kitzmiller Brewer. They were married June 11, 1955. Together they owned and operated the Piedmont Dairy Frost from 1973 to 1996. He loved to fish.
Also surviving are two sons: Ronald Wayne (Joey) Brewer of Grove City, Ohio and Donald Lee (Bobbie Jo) Brewer of Palmetto, Florida; two granddaughters: Sara Elizabeth (Andy) Gunn of Columbus, Ohio and Carly Mae Greiner of Barnesville, Ohio; and two great-grandchildren: Samantha Rose Gunn and Jonathan Andrew Gunn, Jr. of Columbus, Ohio.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Debra Mae (Brewer) Greiner who died in 2021, an infant brother, Carroll Wayne Brewer who died in February of 1930, and a sister, Hazel Alta (Brewer) Fulton in 1981.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Sunday, July 7, 2024 in Koch Funeral Home, 216 S High Street, Freeport, Ohio 43973 and from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, July 8, 2024 in Oak Grove Calvary Chapel. A funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. with Deacons John Cooper and Roger Heskett officiating. Burial will follow immediately after the service in Oak Grove Calvary Chapel Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested donations to the Oak Grove Calvary Chapel in care of Angie Heskett, Treasurer, 528 S Highland Avenue, Barnesville, Ohio 43713 or Tree Lakes Endowment Fund, 2215 73rd St., East Palmetto, Florida 34221.
