JOE KORBA
Joseph “Joe” Korba, 84, of Bannock, Ohio, died July 4, 2024, at his home.
He was born September 16, 1939, in Bannock, a son of the late Roman and Victoria Czech Korba.
Joe was a retired coal miner from Consolidation Coal Company, Franklin Mine. He served his country in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. Joe was a long-time member of the Lafferty Moose Lodge 1462 and the Fairpoint Polish Club. He also was a member of the Flushing American Legion Post 366 and the St. Clairsville VFW Post 5356, the Lansing Sportsman’s Club, the Maynard PNA Lodge 455 and the St. Clairsville Eagles Aerie 2541.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five sisters, Mary Ann Spano, Tillie Arigoni, Sophia Kolodziej, Paulette Johns, and Dorothy Chipka; and four brothers, Ray, Stanley, Johnny and Paul Korba.
Joe is survived by a sister, Josie Garrett; a nephew, Mark Korba; and 22 additional nieces and nephews.
At Joe’s request, there will be no visitation and a private burial will be held at Union Cemetery.
A Celebration of Life will be held for family and friends on August 3, 2024 at the Fairpoint Polish Club beginning at noon. Arrangements are entrusted to Toothman Funeral Home.
