JUANITA “NITA KAY” POWERS
Juanita Kay (Nita Kay) Powers, 75, of Holloway, died Friday, July 19, 2024, at the home of her son Larry, and his wife Jill, who took excellent care of her in her final days.
She was born in Martins Ferry on July 16, 1949, a daughter of the late Agnes M. Dunlap Piper and the late Lawrence G. Piper (Tater Bug). Nita Kay graduated from Union Local High School. She was a member of the Holloway Methodist Church and retired from the St. Clairsville CVS as a pharmacy tech.
Preceding her in death, in addition to her parents, was her husband David L. Powers, a granddaughter, Lauren Paige Showalter and her beloved sister, Glendean Stackhouse. Surviving are two sons, Lawrence N. (Jill) Showalter, of Bethesda and Scott A. (Rita) Showalter of Salesville; a daughter, Kaleena L. Persons of Holloway and a sister, Karen (Brad) Hinkle, Holloway; nine grandchildren and several great grand- children.
