KRISTIN SMITH

Kristin Marie Sacco Smith, 57, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, was called Home on Sunday, July 7, 2024, from Liza’s Place in Wheeling, West Virginia. She was born March 6, 1967, in Wheeling.
She was the loving and grateful wife of Dale E. Smith, and blessed mother of Caroline and Kelsey Smith. She was the daughter of the late Carole Shapaka Sacco and Orlando J. (Jeanne) Sacco, a loving sister of Kevin (Lori) Sacco and Megan (Jason) Bailey, and aunt of two nephews and two nieces. Along with family, celebrating her life are her beloved aunts, cousins and gracious friends.
Kristin was a 1985 graduate of St. Clairsville High School, a 1989 graduate of Duquesne University Pittsburgh, and a 1992 graduate of University of Akron School of Law. She proudly served as a law clerk for the United States District Court for the Northern District of West Virginia under the late Judge W. Craig Broadwater. She was also an Assistant Attorney General for the state of Ohio.
Kristin championed her 6-year battle with breast cancer, weathered numerous complications and recovered from a stroke under God’s inspired Grace. Her spirit never broke, and her sense of humor never faltered, comforting and inspiring us to enjoy our own lives throughout her journey.

Family and friends will be received at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. with a Vigil Service at 4 p.m.
Funeral Liturgy with Mass will be celebrated at the St. Mary’s Catholic Church in St. Clairsville, on Friday at 10:30 a.m., with Father Thomas Chillog the celebrant. A private burial will be held at a later date. Her family will escort Kristin and return her to the trees.
