SUSAN GROVES
Susan Marie Groves, 77, of Barnesville, OH passed away on Sunday, July 14, 2024. She was born on February 15, 1947, in Steubenville, OH to the late Vernon & Evelyn (Ely) Hubbard. Susan was a 1965 graduate of St Clairsville High School. She was co-owner of Barnesville Nursery School where she was a preschool teacher for 28 years. Susan was involved with the Summer Lunch Program. She had a passion for teaching children and helping others. She loved to read books, camp, bake and cook.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Stuart Hubbard.
Survived by her husband of almost 56 years Charles Groves; daughter, Amista “Misty” (John) Wilson; son, Bryan (Erin) Groves. Four grandchildren, Alex (Justina Campbell) Wilson, Alexis (Sonny) Fluharty, Aaron (Samantha Fouty) Marovich, and Grace Groves. One great granddaughter, Gabriella Fluharty. Many brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held at First United Methodist Church, Barnesville, Ohio on Monday, July 22, 2024 from 10am until the time of the service at 11am with Pastor Van Fisher & Rev. Tom Detling officiating. Care is entrusted to Campbell – Plumly – Milburn Funeral Home, 319 North Chestnut Street, Barnesville, Ohio.
