KRISTIN TURNER

Kristin Connors Turner, 53, of North Canton, Ohio, was called to the Lord on Thursday, August 15, at Mercy Medical Center in Canton, Ohio.

She was born on September 13, 1970, in St. Clairsville, Ohio. Kristin was the loving wife of David Turner for 28 years and was the best and kindest mother to Meghan and Kaitlyn Turner. She was the daughter of Coleman and Kathryn Connors of St. Clairsville, and she was the loving sister to Lori (Jason) Newton. She is preceded in death by her dad and her Aunt Marlene. She was also the sister-in-law to many wonderful brothers and sisters, and the aunt to many nieces and nephews. She was also the best friend to the soccer and Hoover moms, her tennis friends, her Girl Scout mom friends, her Wheeling Jesuit friends, her Mercy friends, and her St. John’s friends. And finally, she was the best dog mom to Riley.

Kristin grew up in St. Clairsville, Ohio and was a 1988 graduate of St. John’s Central High School. She then went on to study nursing at Wheeling Jesuit and graduated in 1992. She then moved to North Canton, Ohio to start working as an OR nurse at Mercy Medical Center, where she worked for 28 years. She was adored by her nursing friends and loved what she did. She raised her family in North Canton and made so many wonderful and caring friends here as well.

Along with being a nurse, Kristin loved to travel, where some of her favorite vacations have been to Hawaii, hiking out west, and of course, going to Disney. She never met a beach that she didn’t enjoy, from Myrtle Beach to Marco Island. She also had a creative side where she loved to scrapbook and also loved to cross-stitch. And she loved exploring new restaurants and wineries.

Kristin was diagnosed with melanoma in late 2019. Over the past five years, she has fought this battle with such grace and remained so strong. She suffered a stroke in January and continued to inspire everyone around her in her recovery journey. She remained strong throughout it all. If you knew Kristin, then you truly loved her. She was a bright light in this world and loved by so many. She was beautiful inside and out and was a selfless person. Kristin truly lived every day to the fullest and accomplished and did so much during her life. Her love and memory will live forever. Kristin’s family would like to thank everyone for their outpouring of love and support during this time. They are so thankful to all of Kristin’s friends and family.

In lieu of flowers, Kristin’s family requests that you donate to Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital’s Development Foundation to the Surgery Center in Kristin’s name. You can also support her daughter’s education funds through Ugift.com with the code 71N-315.
