MARY ANN KOVALSKI
Mary Ann Kovalski (nee Laskowski), age 78 of Chagrin Falls, OH passed away September 16, 2024. Mary Ann was born on Father’s Day June 16, 1946 in Piney Fork, OH to the late Frank and Helen (nee Waligura) Laskowski. She was the beloved wife of Raymond; dear mother of Theresa (Sam) Maniar of Hudson, Katherine (Bill) Busby of Chagrin Falls, and William (Katrina) Kovalski of Chagrin Falls; devoted grandmother to Charles, Parker, Jacob, Matthew, Alyssa, Isabella, Jack, and Ava; and dear sister to the late Frank (Mary) Laskowski of Lafayette, LA, Helen (late Mitch) Kaduboski of Canton, and Joe (Robin) Laskowski of Hilliard.
Mary Ann was born in Piney Fork, OH then moved to a farm in Rayland on Larges Hill where she began her elementary education at St. Joseph Catholic School and then Warren Consolidated High School where she was chosen prom queen her senior year. She graduated from the Ohio Valley Hospital School of Nursing in 1967 with her RN degree, and she worked as a nurse in Steubenville, Glendale WV, and Chagrin Falls. Her favorite job, though, was working as a stay-at-home mother and, later, as a nanny for many children who she loved dearly.
Mary Ann married the love of her life, Ray, in 1969, and together, they built a life in Moundsville, WV, Russell, KY, E. Amherst, NY, and then Chagrin Falls, OH. She was a member at St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church in Chagrin Falls. For many years, you could find Mary Ann on the garage sale circuit all over Cuyahoga and Geauga Counties, as she searched for the next treasure. She loved to bake, sew, and garden, and when possible, visit Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas. Mary Ann will be sadly missed for the love and compassion she showed to all who knew her.
A private ceremony took place on Monday, September 23 in Chagrin Falls, followed by private interment at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain. The family asks that no flowers be sent.
