FRANCES “JEAN” TACOSIK

Frances “Jean” Tacosik, 94, of Columbia Cottage, Palmyra passed on to her Heavenly Home on Monday, October 21, 2024. Born February 16, 1930, in Bethesda, Ohio to Albert and Mildred (Shepherd) Murray, she attended school in Flushing, Ohio and graduated in 1948. She married Walter Tacosik on July 2, 1949.

She’s mother to Jane Ziegenfus (Barry) and Michael Tacosik (Bonita). Grandchildren Matthew Kozsuch (Christine), Amy Moss (Brad) and Andrea Vaden (Chris); Great grandchildren Leo Kozsuch, Annabelle Kozsuch, Eleonora Vaden, Jack Vaden and Posey Vaden and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Walter and brother Robert Murray.

Jean and Walt moved from Bannock, Ohio to Fort Branch, Indiana in 1976, then moved to Florida in 1999, then to Pennsylvania in 2008. After Walt retired in 1984, they enjoyed traveling with friends all over North America in their RV. Jean maintained her job as a homemaker until she retired to Columbia Cottage in 2022.

She enjoyed jigsaw puzzles, sewing, needlework, gardening, canning, baking delicious pies, and was always active in her church. She was a member of Cornwall United Methodist Church. She enjoyed using modern technology-phone, text, Facebook, Facetime-to keep in touch with family and friends.

Her Memorial Service will be held at Cornwall UMC on Wednesday, October 30, at 11:30am, with visitation beginning at 10:30am. Interment at Indiantown Gap National Cemetery will immediately follow the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Cornwall UMC Memorial Fund, PO Box 687, Cornwall PA 17016. Thompson Funeral Home, Inc. is entrusted with the arrangements.
