JEAN ANN BENNETT
Jean Ann (Heslop) Bennett, 92 of Martins Ferry passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at WVU Medicine – Wheeling Hospital. She was born on December 24, 1931, in Martins Ferry, the daughter of the late Wilbur B. and Louise (Saunders) Heslop.
She was retired co-owner/operator of the former Bennett Floor Coverings of Martins Ferry, and a member of the First United Methodist Church.
Jean Ann was a loving, devoted, passionate wife, mother, grandmother, great- grandmother, and aunt who dedicated the same love and care to her family members as she did to the family business. Her biggest joy was gathering her family together for dinners and events, bringing her children and grandchildren under one roof to enjoy family holidays and celebrations.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles C. Bennett, Sr. in 2018, grandson, Darrin Scott Suriano, brothers, Wilbur R., and Harold W. Heslop, sister, Audrey Roethlisberger.
Left to cherish her memory are her children, Charles “Chuck” (Patty) Bennett, Jr., Roy (Cheryl) Bennett, Linda (Bruce Shane) Bennett, grandchildren, Chuck (Ashley) Bennett, III, Abbey Bennett, Dustin (Kelly) Suriano, Jude (Marissa) Suriano, Lainie (Alex Hilton) Suriano and James “Jeb” Bennett and great grandchildren, Preston Lowe, Gunnar, Luca, Gianna and Nico Suriano and Braiden Bennett.
Friends will be received at Wilson Funeral Home – Heslop Chapel, 415 Walnut St., Martins Ferry, OH 43935, Sunday, October 27, 2024, from 1-4. A private service will be held at the convenience of the family with Rev. Dr. Bill N. Lawrence officiating, interment in Riverview Cemetery.
