JENNIE RUTHERS

She was born February 10, 1919 in Pleasant Grove, OH the daughter of the late Forrest and Roena “Belle” Gotshal Wheeler,

Lucille retired from the US Postal Service in Bellaire where she was a suburban rural carrier and also worked at Krogers in Wheeling.

She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Bellaire where she at one time was a Sunday school teacher and volunteered for The Living Bread Kitchen.

She also served as a Girl Scout Leader and Band Mom, catered for The House of Catering; enjoyed quilting and making pumpkin rolls at Christmas time, but above all she just loved being with her family whom she loved dearly, especially her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Ruthers; a daughter, Janet Leonard; and infant son, Billy Ruthers; four brothers, Watson, Alvie, Allen and Carl Wheeler; two sisters, Marie Wheeler and Lillian Moore and a son in law, Tom Owings.

Survivors include a son, Bruce (Barb) Ruthers of Bridgeport, OH; two daughters, Linda Owings of St. Clairsville, OH and Beth Ruthers of Columbus, OH; nine grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Valley Hospice and her nurse, Demtria for their care.

Family will receive friends on Thursday from 2pm -7pm at Grisell Funeral Home & Crematory, 400 Thirty-Third Street, Bellaire, OH where funeral services will be held on Friday at 11am with Pastor Phil Bliss officiating.
