RUTH SOMERVILLE

She was the wife of the late Joe Somerville. Born in Union Twp., on March 8, 1924, she was the daughter of the late Irvin and Sarah E. Spangler Shuey. She was a graduate with the Jonestown High School Class of 1941. Ruth had worked as a secretary for the Hanna Coal Co., in Ohio. She was a member of the Salem Walmers Union Church, Indiantown Gap. While she lived in Ohio, she was a member of the Adena United Methodist Church.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews. Ruth was the last of her immediate family. She was preceded in death by her stepson Tom and his wife Helen Somerville; and sisters Mary Fields, Sara Rehrer, Kathryn Nace, Lena Ditzler, Esther Smith and Edna Mae Grossett.

A graveside service will be held on Monday, October 28, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at the Olive Branch Cemetery, Harrisville, OH. A memorial service will be held later at Salem Walmers Union Church.

The family would like to thank everyone at the Lebanon Valley Home for their kind and compassionate care given to Ruth for the past several years.
