SARAH SONK
Sarah Gertrude Sonk, 2, of West Alexander, PA passed away peacefully at home, after her battle with Alstrom Syndrome on Saturday, November 2, 2024.
She was born on March 24, 2022, in Washington, PA the daughter of Lisa Wilhelm Sonk and Ryan Sonk.
Sarah was an outgoing, fearless, and loving girl. She absolutely loved playing with her babydolls, dancing to her own beat or alongside her sister Emma “RaRa”, going to playful parenting classes, pretending to be a cheerleader, playing outside with her sister and brother John “DayDay”, swinging on the swing set, and playing with her cousins.
Sarah was known for her bold personality. She always made kissy faces in the mirror and owned up to her nicknames “Sassy Princess” and “Princess Dumptruck.”
She guarded her heart but she loved so fiercely.
She is preceded in death by her maternal grandfather John Wilhelm, maternal great-grandfather Anthony K. Wilhelm, uncle Brad Coyle, great-great uncle Reverend Joseph Wilhelm, paternal great-grandfathers Joseph Sonk and Fred Curott, and paternal great-grandmother Margaret Sonk.
Surviving are her parents Lisa Wilhelm Sonk and Ryan Sonk, siblings Emma and John Sonk, aunts and uncles Lara Wilhelm (Alan Cline), Heather Williams (Jason), Katie Fischerkeller, and Chuck Fischerkeller, cousins Lucille, Fern, Braxton, and Jace, paternal grandparents Denny and Sheryl Sonk, paternal great grandmother Nancy Curott, maternal great grandmother Nancy Wilhelm, and her guinea pigs “Eeps Eeps” whom she adored.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, from 2 pm to 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm at Young Funeral Home & Cremation Services Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, PA 15323. 724-663-7373. www.youngfhinc.com. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Sacred Heart Church of St. James Parish, 1280 U.S. Hwy 40, Claysville, PA 15323, on Thursday, November 7, 2024, at 10 am.
