SHIRLEY BATES-GRIFFIN

Born on June 22, 1947, in Bellaire, Ohio, to John and Rosella McCormick. Shirley dedicated her life to her family as a devoted homemaker.

Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, John and Rosella McCormick; her sister, Betty Bennington; her brothers, George, William, John, Rick, Curt and Ronnie McCorick; her son Sgt. Todd M. Bates; her son and daughter-in-law, Guy Bates and Frances Hendershot-Bates; her daughter, Misty Carrigan; and her sisters, Judy Beckett and Phyllis Yocum.

She is survived by her loving husband, Mark Griffin; her son, Ricky Bates; her daughters, Shirley R. Jeffries and Tina Moncer; her brother, Gary (Linda) McCormick; her sister, Lydia “Liddy” (Chuck) Garloch; cherished grand- children; great- grandchildren; as well as several nieces and nephews who will all miss her dearly.

Shirley’s life was a testament to her unwavering dedication to her family, leaving behind a legacy of love and devotion. She will be remembered fondly by all who knew her.

Family and friends will be received at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 441 37th Street, Bellaire Ohio on Monday, February 17, 2025 from 10am until time of funeral service at 1pm. Interment to follow in New Greenwood, Bellaire.
