LYNNE ODORIZZI

It is with heavy hearts that we share the unexpected passing of Lynne Odorizzi, 71, of Powell, Ohio, on Friday, May 9, 2025.

Lynne was born December 14, 1953, in Wheeling, West Virginia, daughter of the late Edward and Anne Soukup of Maynard, Ohio. Beloved sister of Pam (Perry) Jones, Lisa (Chet) Mick, and the late Denise (David) Berilla and Leigh (Stas) Pempek. Lynne is survived by her husband of 51 beautiful years, Ed Odorizzi, their daughter Lauren (Chris) Hlavaty, and her grandchildren “the boys” (Carter and Connor), along with numerous other loving friends and relatives.

Lynne was a graduate of Ohio University with a BS in Child Development and Nutrition. She found her passion working with children as the Director of Creative Child Care, in Columbus, Ohio. With her boundless and generous heart, the success of every child is what made her loved by kids and families. She eventually made her way to the Licensure Division of the Ohio Department of Education where she helped current and future teachers. Above all, Lynne’s most cherished job title was “Nonni” to Carter and Connor Hlavaty.

Lynne will be remembered for her generosity, positive spirit, delicious recipes, and her neighborly approach to everyone she met. Lynne found joy in nature — the plants on her porch or the sun on a warm day. In recent memory, she was dedicated to making their camper, “The Sleeping Bus” a memory of its own; planning month-long trips to visit faraway places with those she loved most, encapsulated in her love and appreciation for time well spent.

A celebration of life mass will be held at St Joan of Arc in Powell, Ohio on Monday, May 19, 2025, at 10:00am directly followed by a gathering hosted for all friends and family.

Please consider donating to the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Central Ohio, rmhc-central ohio.org, where Lynne donated handmade tie blankets for children and their families. Additionally, every pop tab from Ed’s Diet Cokes are thoughtfully collected for the ‘Pop Tab Program’ which pays the electric bills for the House at Ronald McDonald House Charities.
