WALTER FRANCIS

Walter Glen Francis passed away peacefully on May 7th, 2025. He was 79 years of age and lived a courageous life. He goes on to join his loving wife Sally Francis, as well as his Parents Clifford and Lucille Francis, brothers Harold and Charles Francis and sister Jane Kuntz in the afterlife. Walter (Glen) leaves behind his loving sons Joseph Francis in Aurora, CO, and Michael (Teresa) Francis of Mount Perry. He also Leaves behind granddaughter Kaitlyn (Jeff) Wehrle and great- grandson Ronan Wehrle, of Lancaster, OH as well grandson Johnathan (Savannah) Owens and their two daughters Sofia and Athena of Mount Perry OH, as well as granddaughter Brooke (Austin) Howell and great- grandson Jaxson of Mount Perry, OH. He also has many nieces and nephews that he was close with including Brian Kuntz and Greg Riggs of Moundsville, WV and Rhonda Malloy of Bridgeport, OH. Walter was born in Glendale WV, on July 31st 1945 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War. He was stationed on the U.S.S. Ranger (nicknamed “Top Gun”) during those years before completing his degree in engineering and becoming a plant supervisor. He loved the outdoors and spent most of his time hunting and fishing and teaching his boys how to hunt and fish. He built his dream home in Mount Perry where he could enjoy the outdoors whenever he wished and have family get togethers to share the love of nature with. He will always be remembered as a caring individual and a Master Hunter and tracker.
