MARTHA CLARK

Martha Louise Sells Clark, 89, of St. Clairsville, Ohio, died peacefully Sunday, June 1, 2025, in Wheeling Hospital.

She was born in Columbus, Ohio, on October 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Ethel Greene Sells and Amaza “Jim” Sells.

Martha was an Ohio State University graduate where she was also a Majorette with the Buckeye Marching Band. She was a retired employee from the State of Ohio’s Unemployment Office and a member of OPERS. Growing up on a farm, Martha became a dedicated and hard-working woman enjoying cooking, sewing and gardening. She was an active member of the Thoburn United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, David Clark and a brother-in-law, Ray Self.

Martha is survived by a son, Kevin (Cari) Clark of St. Clairsville; a sister, Evelyn Self of Mt. Sterling, Ohio; seven grandchildren, Adam Clark, Nova Spence, Travis Clark, Mike Bailey, Ashley Bailey, Arthur Clark and Jim Clark; and nine great grandchildren.

Family and friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. on Wednesday at the Toothman Funeral Home in St. Clairsville, Ohio, where services will be held on Thursday at 10 a.m., with Pastor Jeffrey Croft officiating. There will be a graveside service and burial held at 2 p.m. Thursday, at the Pleasant Cemetery in Mt. Sterling, Ohio.
