ALBERT MICHAEL “MIKE” PERRING

Albert Michael “Mike” Perring, a beloved brother, friend, and dedicated community member, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2025, at the age of 81. Born on March 3, 1944, in Wheeling, West Virginia, Mike left an indelible mark on all who were fortunate to know him.
After graduating in 1962 from Wheeling Central Catholic High school, Mike continued his education with a Bachelor Degree from The Ohio State University and a Master Degree from West Virginia University. He also faithfully served his country in the US Navy Reserves.
Mike had a very meaningful and successful career as an insurance agent with McNeil, Perring & Kulak before continuing his work with City Wide, where he built lasting relationships and earned the respect of his colleagues and clients alike. His professional life was characterized by dedication, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to service.
A lifelong sports enthusiast, Mike was an ardent supporter of his alma maters, WVU and OSU sports teams. He also found joy and camaraderie on the golf course, where he often spent time with friends and family.
Mike was a faithful member of St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, a place where his generosity of spirit was felt deeply. He was known for being very generous of time and talent to the church and the St. Vincent Parish School. His legacy of kindness and support will long be remembered by the many who benefited from his stewardship.
Mike was preceded in death by his cherished wife of 40 years, Cynthia Louise (Marchlenski) Perring; his loving parents, Albert and Margaret Perring; his parents-in-law, Joseph and Mary Marchlenski.; and his dear sister, Susie Perring.
He is survived by his sisters, Peggy (John) Mulligan of Apple Valley, California, and Eleanor J. (Mark) Wellington of Gilbert, Arizona. He also leaves behind his brothers-in- law and friends, Joseph F. (Sharon) Marchlenski, Jr., and John (Terry) Marchlenski, both of Wheeling, West Virginia, and Donald Marchlenski of Columbus, Ohio. Additionally, Mike is mourned by many cherished friends and golf partners who will miss his warmth, humor, and friendship.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during the visitation on Thursday, October 2, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Altmeyer Funeral Home, located at 154 Kruger Street, Wheeling, WV. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 3, 2025, at 11:00 AM at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, officiated by Father Jeeson Stephan. Interment will follow in Our Lady of Seven Dolors Catholic Church Cemetery in Triadelphia, WV.
