BETTIE RAE MATTERN
Bettie Rae Mattern of Wintersville, Ohio, passed away peacefully on October 31, 2025, at the Valley Hospice North Care Center. She was born on March 2, 1943, the eldest daughter of the late James Sr. and Agnes Cash.
Along with her parents, Bettie was preceded in death by her son, Tobby Mattern, and her sister, Bonita “Bonnie” Smith.
She is survived by her son, Jason Mattern; granddaughters, Jocelyn (Jacob) Arnold and Emily (Patrick Nguyen) Mattern; grandson, Patrick (Rebecca) Mattern; great- grandson, Weston Arnold; brother, James (Freda) Cash; brother- in-law, Dwight Smith; daughter-in-law, Elaine Mattern; and many nieces and nephews.
In keeping with her wishes, Bettie will be cremated, and no service will be held. Arrangements are in the care of Dunlope- Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio. Please donate to your local food bank and support your local animal shelter in her honor.
