JOSEPH STEWART
Joseph Christian Stewart passed away on Saturday, November 1, 2025 at Wheeling Hospital surrounded by his family.
He was born on August 28, 1960 in Martins Ferry, Ohio where he lived his whole life except for a short stay in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
Joe was preceded in death by his parents Homer and Freda Stewart and his brother, Matthew Stewart, all of Martins Ferry, Ohio.
He is survived by his two daughters: Christian (Michael) Goddard and their children Trey, Claire and Grace; Jacy (Brandon) Woodie and their son, Jack.
Joe is also survived by his fiance of 27 years. Diana Lutz and her children: Tim (Deirdre ) Lutz, Courtney (George) Bradford and her sons Erik and Albert Bailey, and Trevor Lutz.
He has six surviving siblings: Deborah (Bruce) Harkness, Erin (Doug) Zuboski, Steven (Sandy) Stewart, Russell (Barb) Stewart, Michael (Corinne) Stewart, Phillip Stewart, and several nieces and nephews.
Joe was a 1978 graduate of Martins Ferry High School. He retired from Bill’s Towing in Bridgeport, Ohio in the fall of 2024 after working there as a mechanic for 26 years.
Family and friends are invited to celebrate his life by gathering at the St. Clairsville Chapel of Care Funeral and Cremation Specialists at 204 West Main Street on Friday November 7, 2025 from 4-8pm. Memorial Service will begin at 5:00.
