Rose Marie (Culleton) Marling Grammer, 91, of Shadyside Ohio passed away peacefully on November 23, 2025, in Shadyside, Ohio.

Born on July 18, 1934, in Lowell, Massachusetts, a daughter of the late Edward Mark Culleton and Alice Mary Godsell Culleton.

Rose dedicated her life to the compassionate care of others, serving as a registered nurse and Director of Nursing – earning a master’s degree in clinical nursing. Her career in clinical nursing was marked by her unwavering commitment to her patients, whom she treated with kindness and empathy.

In addition to her contributions to nursing, Rose held a deep passion for journalism. She was a contributor to both the Times Leader and the Lantern Tribune, a Shadyside newspaper she co-founded with her dear friends Lorna Mason and Jeri Carpenter. Through her column, “Ramblin’ by Rose Marling,” she shared stories that informed and engaged her community, showcasing her love for writing and storytelling.

A woman of deep faith, Rose was an active member of St. Mary Catholic Church in Shadyside. She participated in the Catholic Women’s Club and served as both a Lector and Eucharistic Minister, sharing her devotion and spirituality with those around her.

Her spirit of service extended to her role as a Girl Scout Leader and as a facilitator of a Grief Support Group, where she offered guidance and support to many.

Rose is preceded in death by her beloved sons, David “Ozzy” Marling and James “Bibby” Marling, and her siblings, Patrick Thomas Culleton, and Frances Anderson.

She leaves behind her daughters, Kathleen (Randy) Persinger, and Dianne (Ed) Good, whom she resided with, eight grandchildren, and 17 great-grandchildren and a sister, Ann Mary Micheletti.

Family and friends will be received on Saturday November 29, 2025 at the Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Homes and Crematory, 3900 Central Avenue Shadyside Ohio from 1-6pm. Funeral liturgy will be celebrated at 7pm at the funeral home with Father Daniel Heusel as celebrant. Private interment will be at the convenience of the family.
