MICHELLE L. EIKENBERRY

Michelle Lynne (Hastings) Eikenberry, of Mt. Pleasant, OH, died on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at UPMC Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA. Michelle was born in Martins Ferry, OH on January 16, 1962, to her parents Carol (Dickerson) and the late Robert Hastings of Mt. Pleasant.

Michelle graduated from Buckeye West High School in 1980. In 1981, she began working at Boury, Inc. in Wheeling, WV, where she met Vern, her soulmate, and the love of her life. The two had a whirlwind courtship and were married on September 26, 1981, spending the next 44 treasured years as husband and wife. Michelle spent most of her career years working for the USPS at multiple locations, retiring with 28 years of service in 2013. She was a Christian by faith and attended East Richland Friends and Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Churches. She was also a member of Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Women.

Anyone who knew Michelle knows that her family was her pride and legacy. She was a devoted and much-adored daughter, wife, mom, sister, aunt, and world’s greatest Gigi. Michelle was an angel on earth who lived her Christian faith by exemplifying the virtues of love, kindness, generosity, patience, and charity. She put the needs of others before her own and was always ready to help.

Michelle was preceded in death by her father, Robert Hastings, and two sisters, Robin Rozenek and Stacey Hastings.

Michelle is survived by her husband, Vernon Eikenberry; her daughter, Amanda (Matthew) Sliva of Rayland, OH; her son, Jeremy (Helen) Eikenberry of Gaithersburg, MD; five grandchildren: Andrew, Isaac, Elaina, and Lydia Sliva and Emma Eikenberry; her mother, Carol Hastings; her brother, Robert (Kathy) Hastings of Easley, SC; her sister, Charla (Sean) Kelley of Mt. Pleasant, OH; her brother-in-law, John Rozenek of Rayland, OH; several cherished nieces and nephews; and lifelong friend, Karen (Alan) George of Wheeling, WV.

Family and friends will be received on Monday, December 22, 2025, from 4:00-8:00PM at Wilson Funeral Home, 154 Second St., Dillonvale, OH.43917. Calling hours resume on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 10:00AM until the time of her funeral service at 11:00AM. Reverend Jerry Wenger will officiate. Committal service will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens in Colerain, OH.

Memorial donations can be made to the Family House in Pittsburgh, PA or the Mt. Pleasant United Methodist Church. Non-perishable goods may also be placed in the blessings box outside the Mt. Pleasant UMC to carry on Michelle’s legacy of helping others.
