HAROLD CARMAN
Harold L. Carman, 83, of Bellaire, Ohio, passed away on January 1, 2026, at Wheeling Hospital WVU Medicine in Wheeling, West Virginia.
Born on May 22, 1942, in Bellaire, Ohio, Harold lived a life marked by dedication to his family, country, and community.
A proud Army veteran, Harold served his nation with honor and continued to uphold the values he cherished throughout his life. After his military service, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career with Wheeling Pittsburgh Steel. His work ethic and commitment to excellence were admired by colleagues and friends alike.
Harold found great joy in the companionship of his beloved dogs, Cookie, Sparky, and Josie. He was an active member of several veterans’ organizations, including VFW Post 626 Bellaire, VFW Post 4811 Yorkville, American Legion Post 77, and the Rod and Gun Club. A man of camaraderie and fellowship, he enjoyed spending time at the VFWs and Legions, where he shared stories and laughter with friends who became family.
He was preceded in death by parents, Clarence and Mildred (Sutton) Carman; his first wife, Janet Carman and second wife, Phyllis Carman; brothers, James, Carl, Donald, Charles, Bob Carman; sisters, Almeda Yost, Patty Ann Lynn, Donna Brady, and Linda Butler.
Left to cherish his memory are his daughters, Connie Bellomy of Chillicothe, Ohio, and Beverly Mork of Madison, Wisconsin; grandchildren, Justin McClarin, Nathaniel Bowman, Kyle Bellomy, and Casey Bowman; as well as several great-grandchildren. Harold’s legacy also lives on through a host of special nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will remember him fondly.
In a world that often changes swiftly, Harold was a steadfast presence, embodying the principles of loyalty and service. His life was a testament to love, dedication, and community spirit. He will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know him.

Family and friends are to be received at Bauknecht-Altmeyer Funeral Home, 441 37th Street, Bellaire, Ohio, on Wednesday, January 7 from 2 p.m. until time of Military Service performed by the VFW Post 626 Bellaire at 5:45 p.m. Final arrangements are at the convenience of the family.
