NORMA THOMAS

Norma Lee Thomas was born on February 15, 1934, in Neffs, Ohio to August and Julia Archishewsky.

She graduated from Bellaire High School in 1952 where she met her late husband William “Bill” Thomas. Following graduation, she began work as a bank teller at First National Bank of Bellaire. After Norma and Bill married in April of 1956, they moved to St. Clairsville, where they raised their two sons, Doug and David.

Norma worked for many years for Belmont County National Bank in St. Clairsville as a bank teller, and later was promoted to working in the bank offices until her retirement.

Norma is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill Thomas; siblings, August, Agnes, and Joseph; and niece, Jana Campanizzi.

She is survived by her children, Doug (Cindi) Thomas, of Owens Cross Roads, AL, and David (Mindy) Thomas, of Bay Village, OH; and five grandchildren, Cody Thomas, of Denver, CO, Jordan Thomas, of Owens Cross Roads, AL, Julia (Dave) Khanin, of University Heights, OH, Matthew (Lydia) Thomas, of Ravenna, OH, and Rebecca Thomas, of Washington, D.C.

She will always be remembered for her love for her grandchildren, her excitement for the Thanksgiving holiday, and her many recipes – stuffed shells, homemade applesauce, deviled eggs, fruit plates with dip, chocolate chip cookies, sweet potatoes, and chocolate cake with delicious caramel frosting that she saved for birthday celebrations.

Friends and family will gather on Thursday, January 15 at 10:30 a.m. for visitation, followed by funeral service at 11 a.m. at Care Funeral Home, 204 W. Main St., St. Clairsville, OH.
