Christine Botos
Christine Jaskela Botos, born on April 16, 1942, in Ashtabula, Ohio, to Saida and Edward Jaskela, passed away peacefully on April 3, 2026, at Cincinnati Hospice in Cincinnati, Ohio.
Christine is survived by her siblings Mary Lou Marshall (Dave Marshall), Susan Maier (John Maier), and Edward “Buzz” Jaskela (Linda Jaskela); her children Clint Gaver, Stephen Botos, Rachel Botos Clark (Travis Clark), Adrienne Clark (Moshe Usadi), Catherine Botos, and Jessica Botos (Tony Semar); and her cherished grandchildren Ainsley, Elijah, and Isaac Clark; Brett and Grace Clark; Karris Brock; Abby Botos; and Finlay Semar. She was preceded in death by her former husband, Stephen Joseph Botos.
Christine dedicated her life to education and family. She began her career teaching high school English in Painesville, Ohio, and later returned to teaching at St. Clairsville High School where she retired. She raised five children and fostered many others over the years. A dedicated mother, wife, and sibling, Chris was a friend to all, a marriage counselor and religious leader, an avid reader, a jigsaw puzzler, and a talker. She loved sunsets over Lake Erie with family, Madsen donuts, and the smell of fresh lilacs in spring. She will be missed forever.
